Was originally set to be shot back-to-back with another sequel set on a cruise ship, but the next film was canceled in favor of doing a remake of the original film.
Sean Astin, who plays Porter, is probably best known for his portrayal of Samwise Gamgee in the "The Lord Of The Rings" trilogy. During filming of the "The Lord Of The Rings" films, director Peter Jackson held repeated screenings of the original Cabin Fever (2002) for the cast and crew, as he was greatly impressed by it.
Every Cabin Fever movie to date has an underlying skull in the background of the poster.
