The movie is set in Nevada, but the Hotel Coldwater is located in British Columbia. The Canadian flag flies on the roof in the shots where Judge Wheeler is making breakfast in the parking lot.
Toward the end of the traffic stop, at about 3:27, the deputy says, "Well, welcome to the territory, Your Honor." Nevada is a state, not a territory.
At least half of the characters, including Judge Wheeler, mispronounce Nevada as "Nev-odd-uh" rather than "Nev-add-uh."
Judge Kim (Reba McIntire) had a very thick southern accent, but she stated throughout the movie that she was born and raised in that little town in Nevada. If Reba couldn't drop her southern accent, they should have had her backstory be that she spent her formative years somewhere in the Deep South, so that her character would be more believable.
