Nidal Sigri was named by some critics and his fans "The Arabian Charlie Chaplin" for his role as "Asaad" in this show.
"De'aa daya'a" means lost village or cast away village
The fictitious name Um Attanafis had been used by writer Mamdouh Hamada in several of his previous TV series and in his later series "Al-Khirbah". Other fictitious names like "Abo Kaakour" has also been used.
The series was shot in Al-Samra which is a village in north Latakia. it has since become a tourist attraction.
