About why Japanese people take pictures

One hot summer day at City Hall in Stockholm, I noticed a large group of Japanese tourists, they all had cameras. They take turns photographing each other in front of various objects. Even other tourists and visitors are interesting to document. I look in their direction, and soon I too am an object. Japan Pics is about my curiosity as to why Japanese tourists take so many pictures, why they choose certain subjects and how they use the pictures, when they get home. The film is meant to provide insight into why Japanese tourists photograph so much.
