I recently had the pleasure of watching the film "Thirty2" and I must say, I am absolutely thrilled. From the captivating storyline to the masterful execution, this film is truly a gem. One unique aspect that immediately caught my attention was the decision to shoot the film in black and white, adding a timeless and artistic quality to the visual experience.
What truly sets "Thirty2" apart is the skillful exploration of the interplay between dreams and reality. The seamless transitions between these two realms kept me on the edge of my seat, blurring the lines between what is real and what is imagined. The film skillfully weaves a tapestry of emotions, leaving the audience questioning the nature of perception and the boundaries of consciousness.
As the narrative unfolded, the resolution at the end left me craving for more. The cleverly crafted conclusion not only tied up loose ends but also left room for interpretation and contemplation. It was a satisfying yet tantalizing conclusion that lingers in the mind long after the credits roll. Bravo to the writers and director for creating a storyline that is both intricate and thought-provoking.

For a moment in time the viewer has a glimpse into the twisted mind of Poe. This captivating short film carries you along a river through a nightmarish landscape that descends into madness. Fans of Poe will feel right at home as I did. The film is an absolute visual delight as the black and white style allows the narrative dance between dreams and reality culminating in a truly bizarre climax and resolution. Even now certain images from the film haunt my memory. I would love to see it succeed at any number of short film festivals internationally. The director's vision and the cinematography alone deserve recognition.
This was a beautiful take on a poetic short story by one of the original greats in the world of storytelling and poetry. It was captivating and intriguing and I thought it was very well made! Great work! Creative and unlike anything I've seen. Great actors and well done sound design. Absolutely beautiful and stunning! My only criticism would be....wish it were longer...but the original story was short so that's no one's mistake. I loved it from beginning to end and want more. Please do more! So artistic and so cool! I think black and white is very brave and risky since it generally gives the impression that you're hiding imperfections. This film doesn't give that impression as it fits the story and is very well done. Good job!
The film is visually stunning evoking the style of German Expressionism. It's compelling the way it gets you in the mood of the era in a sinister atmosphere. It has a very good story expertly directed by Tim Luna who created a memorable short film that I could watch again and again. Harrison Jones gives a remarkable performance that is both sinister and magnetic. The cinematography is top notch and is refreshing when B&W is well done and justified like in this film. There's certainly love invested in this film and it shows so kudos to the cast and crew and I hope they keep making films such as this one. I was certainly hooked from the beginning.
Though there is a little slo-mo overkill, the camera work, lighting, and score are provocative. The visuals evoke that "What does it all mean?" feel, heightened by the slo mo use. Some scenes worked in slo-mo and feels planned in the shoot speed. Other slo-mo scenes felt manipulated in post-production and weren't as pure and smooth. The piece has a nice visual poetry to it and promises to be an interesting and haunting story narrative. The casting is average but works well with a pitch trailer or sizzle reel. I think the music and sound effects work well, especially, filling in for the lack of dialogue.
