    Above Average

A newer BBC reality hosted by Dom Chinea as he brings in expert crafts makers and business experts to help new talented hobbyist craftspeople bring their hobby into a full time profession. Each episode follows the identical format and the advice is often the same for each episode, but I guess a lot of business advice is generalizable so it somewhat makes sense. There were some issues with season one production, in that a large chunk of the transitions and b-roll were again re-used almost every episode, and each episode inserted a random chunk from a different episode which always caught me off guard. However happy to say the production on season two, while keeping the format identical, did clean things up a bit. I do wish we got some more detail into each artist and their paired expert; often there is high level discussions on social media presence, creating websites, and marketing oneself, however we never get details. We also never get any direct social media shout outs for those on the show, meaning finding some of the artists online afterwords was much harder than it needed to be. All said, the show was quite enjoyable as something to have on in the background, and everyone was always so friendly and supportive in the only way a BBC reality show can be. If you enjoy these types of shows and like watching very talented makers make, I would definitely recommend.

Helping artists with marketing their creations.

I really enjoyed this show! I loved seeing such amazing artists and artisans and their creations. I thought the host was so engaging and such a positive influence and attitude. It was fascinating to hear about the business side of things from all the experts and consultants as well. Each featured creator was given personalized attention regarding their work and how to market it more efficiently. It was interesting to see the artists at work, and I learned a lot about the process of different artistic endeavors. The setting was lovely as well. I really hope that there is s season 2. I found it a very entertaining and relaxed program. Well done!

    Hilariously brilliant

We love this show. It is absolutely hilarious. Most people take about 5 hours to make something that could be made in a factory for much less, so nobody will want to pay that (£15 for a spoon anyone). That maybe isn't the spirit of the programme but I do wonder how anybody makes any money is beyond me. Perfect relaxing programme - perfect to wind down at the end of the day. It is very formulaic, which is what makes it very soothing. Some of the things they make are quite interesting, but the usual joy is the "how much" element of the programme. Thoroughly recommended - almost nothing happens!!!

    Excellent well put together show

One of those things I would have wished was available when I was much younger but showing that all ages can really give it a go at something they have a passion for is truly inspiring. I think I like that it has no competitive aspect to it, it's simply practical advise and quality mentoring with people who are already successful at their craft. This type of programming really is a public service in many ways as it's a way out and up for many people who may not know what direction to take and having sound and clear advise not only for the participants but also for the viewer. Really a gem of a show for this type of content. They deserve more accolades for creating this program.

    Could be better

It's the same thing every week. They take two people that want to be artists and help them. The only problem for me is that that you don't actually learn anything about the making of art and it's very much a lot of hugging and crying.

I would like them to spend a little time on the process so that you can feel like you know more about what's involved and then maybe you will spend that much for the whatever that they're selling.

But I think it's getting to be like Britain's got talent where everyone is crying about their anxiety issues and how they got through whatever because of art and I don't really care about that.

Just needs more information and I'd like to see someone that didn't make any money once they tried it lol.
