This movie might be ok had another casting choice been made. The lead girl is SO terribly annoying it's hard to watch and listen to. My initial thought was thank God I'm not young and in the dating pool because if she is what's out there, I'd prefer to die alone. Awful. Her friend and the simp next door aren't much better. The antagonist (landlord) looks and acts the part, good casting choice. The bathtub scene and phone call afterward where he's trolling her are funny. I'm sure if I had to deal with this annoying girl I'd feel the same way as him. Please Lifetime for the love of God, lose this actress's contact info and don't cast her again...
Maddie is a college dropout and jobless. Her mother passed away recently and her dad left when she was 2. Maddie goes to stay with her Aunt Grace who lives in a secluded ranch house which also has a cute guy living next door and a wacked out husband named Paul who also acts as landlord for their home and their other properties. Aunt Grace is a photographer and she has an assignment in Africa so Maddie can stay while she's away rent-free until she can find a job. But Paul doesn't like it and does nothing to make her feel welcomed. In fact, as the movie progresses and Maddie discovers secrets about the house. Paul, and another girl who was a tenant there, he tries a lot of stuff to scare her and get her to leave!!! This movie had lots of continuity flaws and plot holes, overacting and a bad script. Couldn't wait for it to be over. Skip it!!!
This movie took me by surprise. I was expecting the usual lifetime dumb girl, dumb set up, dumb dialogue, and it had ALL of those things but then it got really weird and that sucked me in big time.
The bathtub scene freaked me out! I haven't seen anything like that on Lifetime!! The step dad was crazy but also pretty funny. I LOL'd several times, but then he'd get super creepy again like having sex with a dead body creepy! OMG! I was surprised they went there.
Maddie could have been smarter. I don't know why they insist on making all these women so stupid! But overall I had a good time watching it and it kept my interest. This movie is Friday the 13th meets Nancy Drew. It didn't take itself too seriously and actually had some touching moments. Worth the watch and everyone was super pretty!!! I wish they had shown the cat.

I was unsure of how this movie would be at first and thought it would be your typical, cheesy murder flick. But as I kept watching, the more and more I cared about the characters and was completely engrossed. To see Maddie's journey from the beginning to the end was breathtaking and I truly respect her. Paul was a joy as well, that silly little rascal causing all sorts of trouble. Anyways, please watch this film!!!! It's campy, yet fun. I honestly hope that they create a sequel. I don't want to spoil too much, but there's a lot of ways to create a second film and really follow up in the characters' journeys.
When Madeline flunks out of college and loses her job, she turns to her Aunt Grace for help. A secluded ranch house with a cute neighbor and beautiful scenery seems too good to be true until a series of strange and terrifying events begin to occur. With nowhere else to go, Madeline launches an investigation in an attempt to protect her Aunt Grace, not knowing that her own life is in danger.
Emily Roslyn Villarreal in the lead role plays a typical teen girl with a squeaky voice and comes across a bit airheaded but she figures out something isn't right at the ranch she's staying at, and this is due to her weird landlord - her aunt's husband. He warns her not to go in his bedroom and we soon learn why in this lively and fun thriller. Roy Abramsohn as the batty landlord is great, he's so over the top in his villainy and nasty enough for you to get his upcommence.

- GoofsNear the end, when Maddie was talking to 911, she was talking on a cell phone and cell phones had not worked in the house throughout the movie -- no reception. If she had simply been shown talking on the landline, there would have been no continuity error.
