Maupassant touch

I saw it as a sort of Guy de Maupassant adaption. Maybe Le Horla. A young man is haunted by noises from walles. His days become nightmare, the perception of reality is perturbed and the visit of friends seems the last drop for his bad state. The source of terrible state is discovered grace surgery. But , far to be occasion of come back to normal life, it is only a piece of this living nightmare.

Virtues - first cinematography and the inspired close ups. Second- the acting. Not the last, well crafted atmosphere.

In short, the touch of a Maupassant seems rules in the case of El Escarabajo , reminding the XIX tools for define the thrill suggestion by suggestion.
