Liked it
I actually liked it. It was light and funny in an obvious way like it wasn't too much and not lame, the mix was weird but that what actually made it light. Reese witherspoon and her moments with her mom did touched my heart and made me realize how motherhood can be little challenging on both ends and I did relate to that. The accuracy of how gen Z would get married and deal with relationships was portrayed correctly and how they are using synonyms "gaslighting" even though they didn't realize what does it mean.
The dynamics of family, motherhood and fatherhood and all the unexpected feelings that overwhelms us as a family was shown in a cool non obvious way.
Its a mix of everything and fits exactly where it should be.

The usual level of quality you expect from a streaming movie
I am starved for comedy movies. They seem to be nearing extinction. So I sometimes make exceptions to my "I only watch theatrically released movies" rule for a chance at some laughs.
From one perspective, You're Cordially Invited did make me laugh out loud 12-15 times. On the other hand, it feels like another barely mediocre movie that we constantly see from streaming originals.
Will Ferrell has nearly all of the funny parts. Aside from him, I found the majority of the cast unfunny. The failed comedic attempts made me cringe on several occasions. And there are so many stupid moments and things that make no sense in order to make the joke work.
Maybe I'm the wrong demographic. But aside from a few laughs, I did not enjoy this movie.

Try To Enjoy It For What It Is
Here is a film that will make you laugh alot if you just sit back and enjoy it for what it is. Don't come in expecting the best movie ever made. Its a light hearted comedy. Try and see the humor in the situations each character faces and you will thoroughly enjoy it.
Will Ferrell doesnt have to always shock and awe us to be relevant. His level of funny has matured just as he has. Yes he may not be as funny as he was in "Old School" but he doesn't need to be that funny in every role.
The movie is entertaining, but of course like always there will be people who complain and say, well this isn't as good as this movie or that movie. Don't be willing to write off everything as a disappointment before you have even truly given it a legitimate chance. Try not to have huge such huge expectations, or try to compare this movie to all the others you have seen before it, and if you do that, I am certain you will enjoy this funny movie as my friend and I did. It literally had us laughing in most of the scenes. 7/10.

Will Ferrell and Reese Witherspoon do click a little, but the movie is a trainwreck of itself.
What happens when two weddings are booked on the same day, two different families from different backgrounds, will there be a compromise, or will they be chaos?
Will Ferrell and Reese Witherspoon do surprisingly click, both give each other time to be funny and never step over one another. But the rest of the movie tries too hard to be edgy, and the jokes don't really land. Some moments come across has more awkward than funny. Most of the other characters don't really grab your interest, but just make you want to cringe a little. Ferrell and Witherspoon are very talented, but I just wish the film had a rewrite.

Terrible
Super cringey. Rating this a 2 instead of a 1 because the scenery is gorgeous and the clothes interesting. If they didn't use terrible language the whole time it might have at least been a 4. Awful characters, bad jokes. There are comments here criticizing Will and Reese as old but frankly it's just the awful script. For starters, the basic premise that a wedding would be booked without a deposit and no interaction with the venue makes no sense. None of the people getting married, no one in the wedding parties, and no family members are likeable. It's a shame because this should have been a cute wedding movie.
