When Owen and Steve were detained by General Ramis (Serge Houde), Owen (Greg Grunberg) shouted "What does heroes do?" and Steve (Neil Grayston) answered "I don't know. Read minds?" referencing the superpower of Matt Parkman (Greg Grunberg's character) in the TV series Heroes (2006-2010).
Greg Grunberg's first lines in the movie is a Yoda impression from Star Wars. Two years later, he would play Snap Wexley in Star Wars: Episode VII - The Force Awakens (2015).
