The second half of Total Drama's 5th season, Pahkitew Island, it has taken inspiration from Detentionaire's location. It would make sense seeing as how at that time, Total Drama and Detentionaire were both some of Teletoon's biggest shows.
Zed from Detentionaire is a skater, similarly to Jude from 6Teen. Not only that, but both of them have a similar physical appearance, and both characters are even voiced by Christian Potenza. This was a friendly nod to 6Teen as both shows were produced by Nelvana, and one the co-creators of Detentionaire, Charles Johnson has written episodes for 6Teen.
Ted from Detentionaire strongly resembles Chris McLean from Total Drama Island, and both characters are voiced by Christian Potenza. One of the co-creators of Detentionaire, Charles Johnson has written for Total Drama prior to working on Detentionaire, and this was a friendly nod to the Total Drama series.
