Ashes

As the first reviewer states, Netflix is a major player in the streaming movie game, and this is advertised as one of the "most watched" or "popular" movie. So me being me, I decided to tune in to see for myself why this movie is rated as "popular" by netflix. Man i tell you I wish I would have passed this mess of a movie up.

The acting is completely over-bearing and portrayed exactly like their drama coach would have advised. The over-acting blends well with the complete crappy music that drones on in the background. Most soap operas are done better than this, but I suspect they made and completed the film in less than a month as its release date is 2024.

If you decide to pass up this film feel good about it, because you are not missing much.

Everyhing in this low budget clishé movie is overused to the point of losing all meaning.

Made me want to cancel Netflix subscription.

This cliché romance cheating wife movie relies heavily on tired tropes and predictable plot twists, failing to offer any originality or depth. The characters are one-dimensional, the dialogue feels forced, and the emotional stakes are undermined by shallow storytelling. The portrayal of infidelity lacks nuance, reducing complex human relationships to superficial melodrama. Overall, it's a forgettable and uninspired addition to the genre, offering little substance or genuine insight into the complexities of love and betrayal.

There is something I don't understand. What kind of movie is this and what purpose does it serve? If I want to watch a movie with sex content, I will open the movies that serve it and watch it. But to put more than 5 minutes of sex content in the movie for the first 20 minutes, which perversion is the work of which mentality, which I will watch for a story? We're tired of this ridiculous content. Shame on your time. Good players. Good shooting. Everything is good, money was spent. But who adds such ridiculous sex scenes to so much effort? Please anyone, I hope I don't meet in the next content I will watch.

Waste of time. The bazaar/farmers market scene was extremely bad. I felt like I was watching an indian film about indian slums. I am not looking down on them but it is not nice when a country (i think purposely) is represented in a very wrong way. Characters were shallow and acting was meh. Final scene felt like it was rushed. Anna Karenina was thrown in the script to make it look meaningful but it was ridiculus overall because it literally had no connection to any character. And scriptwriter or director - I don't know whose BRILLIANT idea was this but- made a "groundnreaking" plot twist by making another writer claim the book "Ashes" as his own falsely. Wow. Amazing. As usual from Netflix: There is a pretty woman, there is a hot guy and there are sex scenes. Anything else doesn't matter. A good story, good acting, good cinematography... those are irrelevant to netfix filmography. Shame on the Actors/Actresses for accepting to work on this garbage. No sense of career management...

Congratulations to those who made such a terrible, unrealistic movie. Mehmet Günsür will be in a terrible movie in his career, it's a pity. The movie makes you say that it's a pity for all the expenses and efforts, it's as worthless as ash like its name. The only good thing about it is the beautiful images of Istanbul. The cinematographer did a good job, but the cast, script and directing can be taught as a lesson on how to make a terrible movie in schools that teach cinema. If you want to torture yourself, it can be a nice torture tool, it is a sad that something like this comes out of this geography, Turkey, which has a lot of original stories to tell.
