What is with all the foul language coming from the kid characters in this movie? They're also making a lot of sexual/genital references.
The movie itself is not too terrible, but the dialogue coming from such young kids is a bit much. I understand that this is how a lot of kids talk nowadays, but the foul language should have been toned down a bit. I dont think there's a single scene in the this movie that doesnt have curse words. Dont get me wrong, I dont find foul language offensive per se, it's just a little off-putting when there's SO MUCH coming from these little kid characters. Constant cursing all throughout this film and I think this is a very lazy writing style.
Compare the writing, especially the dialogue, with the 90's movie "Little Giants" (an actual kids movie which is very similar) and you'll get an idea of why I give this movie 5 stars. I'm assuming The Underdoggs was made for adults because I personally would not allow any small children to watch this movie. I dont understand why the writers would write a movie that's ABOUT little kids, but is not FOR little kids.

There are now new concepts here and no one is winning any Oscars.
It's a plotline so threadbare even the homeless won't wear it, but its fun, lighthearted and entertaining. For the most part it's well written and well acted. Snoop Dogg does a great job with the meterial and delivery and he brings much of the content to life with his character and expression.
Yes, there is a lot of profanity, it's Snoop Dogg for Christ sake! What did you expect. Omar Epps is pretty good too, probably one of his better supporting roles to date. The rest of the cast are pretty forgettable though they all deal with the content sufficently well.
If your sensitive about profanity DON'T WATCH IT! It's not for worse if you can't handle kids dropping MF like an OG.

As brother of a darker color, I'm glad that it's not just another slave movie or, another rise from struggle movie and or just the stereotypical movie that's suppose to appeal to me. I've seen em all and I'm all over those movies.
This movie wasn't really for me either. But I watched it. Didn't help me or improve my life in any way. But I appreciate the fact that something different was presented. It's too vulgar and way too out of touch for me and I couldn't sit down and watch this with my preteen son. I know he probably speak like a lot of the kids in this video when I'm not around, but if I ever found out, It would be a problem. I couldn't promote the behavior, disrespect and language that a lot those kids displayed. It definitely screams FATHERLESS. Also grownups carrying on as they did is insane. Speaking and acting like that in the presence of those kids, right on. It definitely screams FATHERLESS.
You do what you will with your kids and I'll do the same with mine. That's exactly why this movie is reminding that I'm getting old.

First of all, anyone complaining about the language of this movie just wants to complain. It is rated R for language, provides a disclaimer explicitly about language, and it stars Snoop Dogg. So if you want to ignore all three warning signs, that's on you haha.
This is a movie that's good for laughs and entertainment. It is the perfect kind of stupid movie to watch when you want to turn your brain off and just pop some popcorn to have 90 minutes of fun. It's corny and cheesy and yes, extremely profane. I didn't expect anything different from the trailer.
It was incredibly predictable in its format, and some of the jokes didn't exactly land. Some parts were a little clunky and could've been better for the sake of comedy. But overall, it was exactly what it should've been. A fun and raunchy underdog story.

If you liked the movie "Hardball" with Keanu Reeves, you will like this. If you also like Snoop Dogg, bonus points.
Yes, there's a lot of swearing, but what do you expect from one of his movies?
There's even a kick-ass disclaimer at the very beginning about the language π
Overall enjoyable, funny, great sports/celeb cameos, and as far as "remakes"/recycled ideas go, this one was done well (I'm not coming for Snoop or anyone involved in the film but let's face it, there's nothing totally original in Hollywood anymore, every flick has at least one reused idea/plot/character-forming "twist")
So spark a blunt or pass the bowl, sit back, and enjoy!
