She's back, and still talking to the camera.

Annika gets hold of a phone which contains a video of a man being drowned, it's in the hands of a frightened girl, who claims she stole the phone off a man.

Good to see Annika back on the box, if I'm honest I had the same problem here as I did with The Tower, it was such a long time ago, it's hard to remember events, the one thing I did remember was Walker talking directly to the camera, it's quirky, it makes the show a little different.

It's an entertaining first episode, lots going on, lots of window dressing, but strip it back, and there's quite a basic, but enjoyable mystery here.

Great to see Pal Aron, it seems like a long time since I last saw him in such a drama, very good actor, I'm sure Rihan Harijan will have a greater part to play.

I'm glad she's back, I think there's a good story here, interesting to see where it goes.

    7/10.

I had to stop watching this show after this episode

I had to stop watching the show not because it was boring. It was because how they investigate some of the crimes. A lot of important questions remained unanswered after a case was closed. For example, in episode 1 of season 2, I was keen to know what happened between Rihan (the Indian insurance broker) and Aisha (the tennager). Aisha claimed that Rihan tried to take her moped, and she took the mobile phone from Rihan while trying to get her moped back. Why did Rihan want her moped? It might be irrelevant to the case but it might be another crime that Rihan had committed. Small details like this were missing, and how the executive producers concluded each single case in one episode made me feel like rushed. Sorry, not my cup of tea.

Excellent Put Owelli Roach back on the show.

Excellent show. Love her character especially talking to audience. Put Owelli Roach back on show. Why take him off?

Psychologist is annoying at times. I see he's necessary because of close relationship between Annika and daughter's father. Please stop making Black guys runners and killers. Really, in Scotland?

    Pregnant girl is disconcerting.

    When is season 3?

    Need youthful Owelli Roach action.

Could use less accents English is difficult for American listener.

Unnatural for daughter's reaction about knowing who her dad is. Let's have more reactions and discussions on that.

Owelli Roach spoke English the clearest. Easily understood.

All that breaking the 4th wall bit is a bit too much

The story is ok, the acting is fine, but the bit where she talks to the viewers was novel in the first season, but now it's getting a bit too much. I was fast forwarding those sections.

I have seen few other Nicola Walker stuff and I am familiar with some of her weird mannerisms and expressions, but felt there was an excess of that in this one.

Additionally, I did not like all the family bit and the new revelations about Annika's relationships. Too much distraction. I am here to watch a police procedural and having to traverse through all the unnecessary side bits. Not pleasant.

This episode was a difficult watch and I am not sure if I will continue watching this season. May be if there is nothing else to see, I guess. For now this is it.
