Kembleford is rocked when a group of leather jacket wearing bikers arrive in town. Local girl Lisa Morris is taken with head of the gang Billy Turner, her mother isn't quite so smitten.
There is something satisfying about the idea of Kembleford's quiet serenity being rattled by a group of trouble making and speed loving bikers.
The biking accident, that's actually one of the nastiest killing methods ever on Father Brown, it was a particularly grim way to go.
Maybe not the most satisfying mystery of all, the killer's identity wasn't perhaps the biggest surprise, but the visuals and flavour of the era was perfectly captured.
Lisa's transformation, that was quite extreme, Grease vibes about it.
All credit to Jamie Bacon, cracking performance as Billy Turner, he certainly looked the part, and acted it.
7/10.

The new Father Brown episodes, and cast is.....unspeakable....unbearable to watch. I'm so so sorry to say that. I'm NOT trying to be vicious by any means. But we were spoiled with the "old cast" and AMAZING "OLD CAST" and wonderful really suspenseful stories....and now.....someone has a brain farth.....and trying to please younger or ethnic people for some idiotic reason. We're talking about the 50's England for God's sakes....
I WANT BACK THE "OLD CAST"!!!!!!!!! And the "previous story writer"!!!!!!!!
This new whatever is IMPOSSIBLE TO WATCH. A HUGE DISASTER. A BORING AWFUL NOTHING SPECIAL...wasting of time.

Rock n Roll has come to Kembleford. It also includes greasy leather clad bikers spending too much time in greasy cafes.
Billy Turner is the wild one, the leader of the pack. Racing around the clock.
Meanwhile Agnes Morris is aghast with these tearaways. Especially as her teenage daughter Lisa is smitten with Billy.
He's not interested in a simpering doe eyed teenager but she later transforms Grease like to something more smouldering and sultry.
It is a febrile atmosphere and one where a gruesome murder takes place. It is troubled Roger Norton who dies but Father Brown believes that Billy was the target.
Some of the influences of this episode from better known movies were a bit too obvious. The killing of Norton was nasty.
I just think that the culprit was rather easy to guess although the motives were understandable.
It is nice to see Father Brown moving to the modern music era.
