Chapter 3

When Gala and julia cook a potato omelette with Xanax for Hank and Kevin, Julia says she also makes a very good tomato soup (gazpacho). This is a reference to Pedro Almodóvar's "Mujeres al borde de un ataque de nervios". In this film, the character played by the same actress, Carmen Maura, prepares a gazpacho with sleeping pills in order to commit suicide though she does not and gazpacho becomes central in the movie plot for some other reasons.

In any village inside Catalonia in the time depicted in the series, local people will speak catalan among themselves. This never happens in this series though some of them use isolated common words such as interjections (i.e.: "collons").
