In between takes, the female basketball players were made to run suicides to remain sweaty and out of breath. Whenever that failed to make them sweat, they would be patted down with baby oil to maintain the illusion.
When actress Izzy Steel (Wren) first auditioned for the film, she wore a homemade basketball jersey as a joke. It had a hand-drawn design she made herself to look like the uniform for her character in the film and read "WREN" on the back.
All the female basketball players were actually on a team together, excluding Brooke and Izzy, who trained separately for the film.
