During my 9 months at the object show community, I've watched about 35 different shows, and this is definitely one of the best.
Of course, I'm talking about the second season. I haven't watched the first one and I'm not going to, people say it's not very mandatory to watch. I hope so.
The main difference between Paper Puppets Take 2 and 99% of the object shows is the characters. They are realistic, interesting, and you sincerely empathize with them, and this can be traced back to the very first episodes, or rather from the third. The authors strictly follow the characters of their characters; they don't change their minds just because the plot needs them to. Everything happens reasonably and interestingly.
The series looks very easy and enjoyable, plus it has very good animation. It may seem too clumsy to some, but I see it as a unique and beautiful style that is being improved with each episode. I especially like the so-called "title cards" for each episode. It looks extremely pleasant and exudes the atmosphere of those Nickelodeon or Cartoon Network cartoons from childhood in the best possible way.
But as for the voice acting... it's very controversial here. Here we have good actors, like YellowAngiru himself, and frankly bad ones. However, in the aggregate, this does not cause serious problems when viewing, although it could have been better, especially in terms of technical voice processing. Is it even here..?
Soundtracks. In my memory, there was only one memorable original soundtrack here - "All Over Again" from episode 14. And yes, it's amazing. It perfectly complements the already dramatic episode, forcing you to fully feel into this cozy but sad atmosphere.
I watched this show in just 2 days and didn't regret a bit. I highly recommend it to everyone to watch.
