Hoorah 99!

A fun and insane film with great dialogue and wild characters. This movie pulls no punches and the main character is so unlikeable you can't help but like him. It was filmed nicely, some great performances, especially the lead and the neighbor dynamic. Ja Rule also was quite good, playing an odd role of a jiminy cricket type figure or conscience. It was great to see an almost all-black cast doing a film that can transcend cultures and ethnicities, focusing on how all our families are a bit screwed up, and how we'd do anything for each other. There's also some great music, an original song, and some unique composition making you feel like you really lived in New York.
