I watch every episode of Jeopardy. I love that show! This celebrity version is not that show. This celebrity version is an insult to Jeopardy fans everywhere. The regular Jeopardy has 61 questions over a1/2 hour. The celeb version has 3 rounds with a total of 91 questions over 1 hour. The questions are dumbed down, even in the third round. In the second episode the celebs made stupid comments between every question/answer. They were attempting to be funny. They were not. This show has no respect for the game. Mayim acts like she is hosting a party game in her living room. Of the first 6 celebs, only two could compete on the celebrity episodes that were hosted by Alex Trebek. This trash would not be on television if Alex were still with us. No season 2.
With Jeopardy nearly finishing its 41st season, I'm gonna talk about the celebrity version of America's Favorite and Long-Running Quiz Show.
Before it became a regular primetime series, it would be an occasional special week-long event of the regular rotation of regular Jeopardy!, which started in 1992 until they were discontinued in 2015.
In 2022, 2 years after the late Alex Trebek passed away from cancer, ABC decided to cash into Jeopardy again after their short-lived Super Jeopardy tournament in the summer of 1990, bringing back Celebrity Jeopardy, but as a tournament event. Mayim Bialik, who was alternating with Ken Jennings as the host of regular Jeopardy, was the host for the 1st season before ultimately getting let go due to her connection with the writers and actors strikes, leading Jennings to replace Bialik starting with the 2nd season.
So if you like questions and answers and celebrities, then enjoy Celebrity Jeopardy!.

Remember when SNL imagined Jeopardy with vapid, ignorant celebrities?
Well ABC straight up stole the idea.
Watch as millionaires stare blankly at the cameras when asked questions like "Who is buried in Grant's Tomb".
This is astonishingly bad.
The 30 minute format we all know and love is now a bloated affair, 30 minutes is now collectively spent between rounds as the host makes inane small talk with the dumbest contestants ever. You'll be yelling at your TV halfway through episode one.
None of these people know how to play the game, their wagers are a joke, "true daily doubles" almost never occur because they're all afraid to go big.
Also, was Mayim EVER interesting or charismatic?
She's pleasant enough but man is she a bore.
Triple Jeopardy is a nice touch though so there's that.

Jeopardy is my version of doing crossword puzzles to sharpen my mind. This celebrity version is totally mindless. The questions are absolutely juvenile. I can easily answer almost every clue. It is as if it was designed for a twelve year old. It is such a dumbed down version of the real show. And, the so called celebs spend so much time trying to be cute and entertaining it is just annoying. These celebs are little known and are auditioning for affection and attention at the expense of the show. It is really sad to see people so desperate for attention.
I think it is a disgrace that Jeopardy approved this show. I know it can be better in time.

... for some of the celebrities. Some of them look completely clueless, giving ridiculous answers to really easy clues. And when they don't do that, they don't pay enough attention to the clue.
You have to understand these clues are WAY dumbed down and some of the celebrities STILL can't perform. The show tried to make them look good, and failed.
However, a few of the celebrities are well-rounded people just like most contestants and fans, and can drive through some of the contestant categories showing that at least THEY have as much common knowledge as anyone you might know. LOL
We've seen through the second semi-final round, and so far both people who advanced to the final did a decent job on the show.
And yes, a FEW of the celebrities act out so much they make utter fools of themselves thinking they're cute but really just annoying the hell out of most viewers. Thankfully, all of those lost ... mostly by WIDE margins.
