Theater of the Supernatural: City of the Dead

I like the original movie The City of the Dead, but it was in black and white, which I do not like. I've never seen a colorized version of it and this new offering by Theater of the Supernatural is the closest alternative. The visual effect is pretty cool I think. I actually hope they take more good classic movies and reinvigorate them and give them a new life by applying this visual effect or filter or whatever it is. The film was old so it is in the public domain. It is essentially the same exact film just with the application of this animated disco rave filter or whatever it is. So if you like the original The City of the Dead movie you should also like this version, unless you just hate the visual, bc that's about the only difference. Unrelated to this new version, but I put this movie in the Halloween season movie viewing category and I think I prefer this new version better for that bc I never enjoyed black and white film...I always wanted to see color.

That's all this is, a public domain film run through a AI filter that gives it a psychedelic blue look. It's trash, but I'm glad the "filmmaker" used his real name on this site because not only can I boycott him, but future production companies who understand how disrespectful this is can avoid hiring him. It's profiteering off somebody else's art, with little to no effort. It's lazy. It's unethical. It's trash, and I'm not talking about the good kind. One thing it is not is art. It's not even the shadow of real art.

I wish the "filmmaker" a long an industrious career as a McDonald's graveyard shift manager.
