It's an anthology halloween special. There were some really good segments. I'm a big fan of Joel Haver and David Firth, and seeing them in something this mainstream is neat for sure.
A lot of the segments unfortunately fall into pretty cliche slasher tropes. Seeing the different animation styles is cool and all, but at least 3 of the segments, and the overarching narrative of the Paloni Show are all the same plot wise. Justin Roiland, as always, plays the same character as he always does. He has like 2 voices that he chooses from. Same with Zach Hadel, although in my opinion his voice is a little more tolerable.
But the standout segments were great. Some very creative uses of animation throughout. Joel Haver and David Firth, of couse, were my favourites. I love Joel Haver's sense of humor, and David Firth continues his creepy satirical sensibilities. There was also Rafillo, who created a crazy animation called Killer Bathtub. He seems to be most famous on TikTok but he's mostly Spanish language so I haven't heard of him before.
Lee Hardcastle also did a great claymation segment, really showing off his talent. And Jaime Rodriguez also made a horrifically well animated short.
Overall I say it's worth watching, if only to see some exclusive animation from some of the best indie animators working today.

It really is just old YouTube, you can really see Zach's influence. It honestly doesn't work that well with the Rick and Morty writers that well. It would have better if it was just Zach. Them together gives off like an odd David Lynch esque slapstick comedy. I wouldn't watch it if you're over 30, most of the jokes are anti humor and are carried by the obscure dialogue on top of the obscene situations.
This review does require me to type more. I feel like I typed enough. I don't really have anything else to say. I said what I needed to say. I haven't had a character constraint since highschool.

Leroy, Reggie, and Cheruce Paloni are hosting a Halloween Special featuring various shorts from edgy animators and performers. They are shooting for their own Hulu show after hosting this variety show from their suburban home.
This is co-created by Justin Roiland who brought us "Rick and Morty" and "Solar Opposites". It's that type of humor. The animation style is a lot of that although the shorts are varied including a live action one. I don't know if this is a backdoor pilot to a new show. This comes after Roiland's case got dismissed. So there is a chance. It's irreverent. I like most of the shorts although they do feel scattershot. I like it.

The only reason I heard about this was from following Joel Haver and I made an account to tell you about it. You'll see a lot of familiar art styles and might recognize a lot of the people who put work into this collection of mostly animated shorts. It's pure fun. IDK what the haters are jabbering about. This is the type of media where you probably know what you're getting into, and it delivers. A legend from beyond the grave even voices a character. In the age of awful pandering BS, Hulu delivered a collection of talented people who just wanted to make something you can grab a bowl of teeth rotting candy and sit down to enjoy. Anybody complaining about this needs to eat a Snickers.
If you like Rick and Morty, then you will like this! There are hits and misses, but of course, so was the interdimensional cable access shows that they had. Some shows were funny, some gross, and some were disturbing.
I liked a lot of the nods to the iconic horror movies. I think there was at least 3 maybe 4 big movies that I can count.
I also liked the different animation styles that were featured in the clips. There was one that was live action too.
I hope they have a Christmas special too! It would be fun to see what kind of twisted things they will do with that! I hope it's an annual tradition.
