A must Watch- A tale from the history of Bengal

*It wasn't a movie, it was an Experience* Specially Ramakrishna's appearance was heart touching. Every scene, every dialogue was just as it should be....nothing more nothing less. Rukmini congratulations. You are an treat to the eyes.

I didn't find any shortcomings in the film.

Every character played its role up to the mark and even exceeded. Most remarkable is the childhood version of Binodini, who has played a cute as well as strong role to portray.

Kumar Bahadur's physique is also remarkable.

I watched this movie in Ashoka cinema hall, Behala. I wish to watch it again at Binodini Theatre (Star Theatre).

    Binodini Ekti natir Upakhyan

Binodini, this kind of movie, is a scene in life in the Bengali Tollywood industry.

All of us movie buffs or theater buffs know and know who Binodiini Dasi is. Here the director has organized the plot and subplot of the film very well. The running time of this film is 151 minutes.

First I will discuss here that there are two good and bad things in this film. First I will start with the bad, then the good will come last.

The downsides of this film are: First is the marketing strategy for this type of movie, which could have been more powerful. I feel like the marketing of this film has been down a lot; this is the most down in this whole film. Now we will discuss the good aspects.

We will first discuss Rukmini Mitra, who is the main character of this film. I see her on the screen of the movie Cham (2017). When I saw her from the film, I saw the character that I see now. It seemed that the movie had a running time of 151 minutes, but for a time it didn't seem to go anywhere that the goosebumps had created so much.

The character is really at an amazing level here. Not only Binodini Dasi character but Girish Ghosh's character, he was Mr. Kaushik Ganguly; he made a maid look real but compared to no one.

And the character of Om Saini was Kumar Bahadur, in which really Kumar Bahadur means all the characters here and is the character played by Rahul Bose, mir Afsar ali.

How many characters this movie had, the entire character has been utilized in such a way that the entire 151. The movie did not seem to go down even once in the running time between the minutes of the movie. Throughout the movie Goosebumps. In this 151-minute runtime, the director, Ram Kamal Mukherjee, has utilized the entire character in such a way and defined it so much that everyone has brought forward five, and after five years of hard work, the film that is coming in front of everyone looks like, yes, indeed.

And there really is the contribution of Mr. Soumik Halder and the director Ram Kamal Mukherjee of the movie. I am really impressed by how the director has organized the thing. It is a really wonderful movie.

And along with that, the background score, or background music, And this movie character makeup and prostatics makeup was fantastic, of the movie is really the whole things are goosebumps.

Honestly, this whole movie deserves a national award.

Here's a real thank you so much to Dev Entertainment Ventures for producing such a movie. Thank you so much, Devda and Dev Entertainment Ventures, and Binodini, to the whole team from me. All the best. Those who are the audienceNow if you don't see or don't know this picture, please visit the hall and see the picture.

Binodiini Ekti Natir Upakhyan - A spectacular tribute to Creativity and Courage"

It's a must-watch-a visually compelling journey. Bertolt Brecht once remarked, "From the start it has been the theatre's business to entertain people... it needs no other passport than fun." So, go watch and enjoy.

As a regular filmgoer, I seek grandeur, storytelling, and memorable performances. Attending the grand premiere of Binodiini - Ekti Natir Upakhyan at Binodini Theater was an unforgettable experience. Binodini Dasi's life was a bold, trailblazing story of creativity and courage. I remember a scene from Anjan Dutta's National Award winning film "Ranjana Ami Ar Ashbo Na" where he convinced the music company head (Abir Chatterjee) to launch Ranjana's solo Bengali rock album, by drawing a parallel with Binodini Dasi's trailblazing entry into theater and how that changed everything. What Ram Kamal Mukherjee and Rukmini Maitra have achieved is nothing short of audacious creativity, masterfully bringing Binodini Dasi back to life with brilliance.

Ram Kamal Mukherjee is a fantastic storyteller. I recently read "Dream Girl & Beyond", his biography on India's biggest female superstar, Hema Malini ji. His words painted a visual scene-by-scene portrayal of Hemaji's life, such is the power of his storytelling. The film is indubitably Rukmini Maitra's best work till date - she is the soul of the film. Her screen presence, her emotions, the expressions, the grace, the anger, the sorrow - it seems she has literally lived in Binodini Dasi's skin over these years. The sets, the costumes, the research, the lights - everything showed that Ram Kamal Mukherjee is different, he has announced himself in the Bengali film industry. His work in Mumbai and his ability to visualise grandeur is quite evident in the film.

Kaushik Ganguly Sir as "Girish Ghosh" is of course the other powerhouse of the film. What can I say about him - that one scene from Srijit Mukherji's "Chotushkone" where he has literally swallowed every other actor in the film - I am a huge fan, Sir. I must say, Rukmini did a fantastic job matching him scene to scene.

Chandreyee Ghosh as "Golap" delivers a powerful performance, while Firdausi Basu as "Khetramani" captures Binodini's competitive struggles with finesse.

It was good to see Rahul Bose. His portrayal of "Ranga Babu" reminded me of Anjan Dutta's portrayal of "Shubho" in Rituparno Ghosh's "Chitrangada" - a perfect blend of empathy and wisdom. Mir Afsar Ali as "Gurmukh Rai" was in his usual brilliance. I have always felt the actor Mir has always been highly underrated. OM Sahani as "Kumar Bahadur" tries his best to create an impact. The veteran Gautam Halder's dark portrayal of "Dasu Babu" was such a masterpiece.

The music by Sourendro-Soumyojit is captivating. Shreya Ghoshal's "Kanha" is spellbinding, "Aaji Borosharo Raatey" is melliflous, and "Hori Mon Mojaye" is purity. All the songs are beautifully choreographed by Manisha Basu, Souvik Chakraborty and Avyaan Roy, with Rukmini mesmerizing in every frame. Soumik Halder's cinematography is slowly but surely gaining legendary status - simply love his work.

When I was asked my opinion of the film while leaving the premiere, I could only blurt out: I haven't seen Rukmini Maitra look so beautiful on screen ever before...my mind was still entranced..

    Rukmini maitra steals the show

"Binodini" is a visually rich and emotionally resonant film that delves into the tumultuous life of Binodini Dasi, a legendary figure in Bengali theatre. The movie does a commendable job of bringing to light the struggles and triumphs of this remarkable woman.

The standout performance of the film is undoubtedly by Rukmini Maitra, who breathes life into the character of Binodini. Her portrayal is powerful, nuanced, and captivating. She embodies Binodini's strength, vulnerability, and fiery passion for the stage, making it an absolute delight to watch her throughout the movie. It's clear that she put her heart and soul into the role, and her performance alone makes the film worth watching.

However, the casting choices for Rabindranath Tagore and Ramkrishna Paramhansa are disappointingly underwhelming. These iconic personalities deserved more thought and precision in representation, as their portrayals felt miscast and lacked the depth and gravitas required to do justice to their legendary status. This misstep unfortunately pulls the audience out of the narrative at crucial moments.

Visually, the film excels, with stunning period-appropriate sets, costumes, and an evocative score that transports viewers to 19th-century Bengal. The direction does a fair job of weaving together the various threads of Binodini's life, although the pacing feels uneven at times.

Overall, "Binodini" is a compelling watch, with Rukmini Maitra's extraordinary performance standing as its brightest gem. Despite the missteps in casting some key figures, the film succeeds in shedding light on an extraordinary woman's legacy.
