During the Homeless chapter, on Stan's side of the pavement there is a man sitting on the bench reading a newspaper, in particular an article about the Origami Killer, which was the name of the killer in another game by David Cage called Heavy Rain.
The game was hacked causing controversy with a nude character model of Elliot Page being released. What happened was that someone loaded the game into a PS3 that was booted into Developer Mode, and scenes that were originally intended to feature nudity but had cropped it out for a lower PEGI rating were re-framed to expose more of the model. A body double was used for the model's form and texture, but with Page's face and head superimposed onto it. Page threatened to sue the developer but it isn't known if he did.
The last project Normand Corbeil scored. Corbeil passed away of pancreatic cancer on January 25, 2013. The game is dedicated to his memory.
Animation, facial capture, and voice-overs were all recorded at once with Beyond: Two Souls instead of separately like with Heavy Rain.
A PlayStation 4 remaster for Beyond: Two Souls was released on November 24th, 2015. The most noteworthy addition to this version is an option to either playthrough the story in chronological order or in its original out of sequence order. Other improvements are a bump to 1080p resolution as well as new visual effects such as motion blur, bloom, depth of field effects, and improved lighting and shadows. Also your decisions are now shown at the end of every scene, and can be compared with other players' choices. Controls have also been improved for action sequences, and the difficultly in certain fight scenes has been increased. Finally the "Advanced Experiments" DLC is now included for free, it was previously only available as a bonus to those who pre-ordered the original PlayStation 3 version.
