United Airlines: Take Me Along

Though I was familiar with the fact filmmaker Michael Cimino had an early career in the advertisizing business, I could not have imagined that he could take from his bag of tricks a happy commercial with a song and dance number.

The creator of dark themed films like "The Deer Hunter" and "Heaven's Gate" goes into a colorful moment to promote United Airlines and their discount campaign where husbands could take their wives along with them, as there was a price reduction. What follows is a musical number at na airport, lots of dancing and smiles all around.

It's all very amusing and fun to watch. Cimino might not have fulfilled his personal dream of making a Hollywood musical feature (though he was fired from "Footloose"), so this is the closest we ever had to witness his directorial talents in this exact genre. 7/10.
