Captain Corpse

I understand that this is only the second movie from Elijah Winfrey, but the plot was very easy to follow and he is a great story teller. Being low budget I wasn't expecting much, and there are some flaws with the audio and makeup, but it wasn't bad at all.

Jonah was dramatic and serious, Alexa gave a passionate performance. Beckett was hilarious, Jonesy was full of sass, and Ramie added the perfect charm.

I have never heard of Massena New York before now, and it seems a beautiful area with a varied landscape suitable for filming a variety of movies. I look forward to any future projects from this company.

Captain Corpse is a cut above Mr. Winfrey's last movie 'Ballad of Billy Badass', a dramatic tale of love and bounty hunting with a little bit of tasteful comedy mixed in there for a melting pot of local talent. There wasnt much music which was a bummer but i'm hard of hearing anyway so not a deal breaker AT ALL, reminded me a lot of Disney's Guardians Of The Galaxy starring Christopher Pratt, the HOT blue girl, Dave "Bautista" Bautista, and Rocky Raccoon one of the best Disney Movies of the Last Fifttern years!!! I Will be showing all of my friends this movie, I Wish it Had a physical release so I could get it as a stocking stuffer since CHRISTmas is right around The Corner. LOL !

I had the privilege of attending the premiere of Elijah Winfrey Studios's second film, Captain Corpse. This small independent film follows the titular character, Captain Corpse, and his crew as he faces various challenges and obstacles standing in the way of marrying his true love. Despite the film's limited budget, Elijah Winfrey and the rest of the cast and crew made an enjoyable film. The film is full of laughs, funny moments and of course, some serious moments thrown in there as well. While each character had its charm, the standouts of the film were R. W. Martin as Jonah Corpse, Nicole Morgan pulling double duty as characters Alexa and Bri, and lastly Elijah Winfrey as Marshall Dale Poe. Some feedback and constructive criticism I would like to share, keeping in mind the film's budget, is one, the makeup and paint used on some of the characters seemed to have rubbed off as the film progressed, most notably on the characters of Jonesy and Ramie. The other would be the lighting as there were moments in which characters would be hard to see or on the contrary, the scene was too overexposed. Nonetheless, I applaud Elijah and the cast and crew for this film. If you would be interested in watching Captain Corpse, be on the lookout for the film on streaming platforms as well as the Elijah Winfrey Studios YouTube channel. I will be rating this film a 3 out of 5 (6/10)
