Conor Sherry, Mika Abdalla, and Gabriel LaBelle in Snack Shack (2024)

Goofs

Snack Shack

Edit

Factual errors

At the 53:00 mark Moose is seen wearing an Always Coca Cola shirt. Coca didn't start using that slogan til 93' while the movie is set in 1991.
At the end of the movie, Brooke's dad is seen wearing Air Force Master Sergeant / First Sergeant stripes. The Air Force announced changes to the stripes on Oct 1, 1991, with a long test and transition period until 1997. The movie is set in the summer of 1991, so it is a little too soon for Brooke's dad to be wearing that particular set of stripes. He should be wearing the old-style of Master Sergeant stripes known as "six down".
You must be 18 to enter into a contract, they could not sign a deal for the snack shack with the town or get a business license or insurance.
A.J. says he has his own bank account, but you must 18 years of age to open a bank account on your own and he's 14.

Revealing mistakes

The second time A.J. is shown mowing he does not have the deadman switch held down during start or as the engine starts and he starts mowing.

This is a safety feature and the mower absolutely will not start or run with it released. Since the mower is shown operating with it held down later, it isn't like they disengaged it (which happened back then) but just indicates the mower start and run is faked, likely for both sound and safety resons.

Miscellaneous

The first time A.J. sees Brooke she is getting out of a green jeep with the full roll cage also known as the Family Style roll bar. This wasn't introduced until 1992. In 1991, when the movie takes place the jeep would have still had the fastback style used from 1978-1991.

Anachronisms

The movie takes place in 1991. Callaway did not start manufacturing golf balls until 2000.
When Shane is sharing his Alaska trip plans with A.J., he refers to one of the mountains as Denali. In 1991, this mountain would have still been called Mount McKinley.
Brooke uses the term "cringe" in its modern slang meaning of something awkward and embarrassing, which will not become common until the late 2000s.
While taking place in 1991, the $100 bills featured in the movie weren't in circulation until 2006.
The grocery store scene has products that feature modern packaging designs (most notably Hostess and Frito-Lay products), which were different in 1991.
