    Thank you.

Thank you for all of hard work, showing a part of the fire service few know about. I appreciate the idea and the people who shared their stories. Thank you to all involved. I hope this film helps shed a light on what first responders deal with whether you see the struggle in them or not. Firefighters are a group of doers, and they are frequently the last to get help. It's my hope that this video encourages first responders to take a good look at themselves and get help if they need it. Thank you to Cody, TFD administration, and IAFF local 31 for having the idea and supporting all those that made this film.

    Brave Truth & Beautiful Film

This film is an amazing true story of brother and sister firefighters sharing emotional stories of personal trauma. The Call We Carry speaks to all first responders and those who love them. The emotional toll and physical stress they experience in the service of others is highlighted as a common result of cumulative stress. The importance of recognizing this impact on the emotional health of first responders is the purpose of this film. As a 29 year retired firefighter myself, I understand how important this topic is. I hope the film will help save lives by shining a light and normalizing the subject of getting help to deal with our mental health. I hope every department in the country sees this film.

    High quality, impactful film

The countless hours of meticulous work Cody put into making this film are very apparent when watching the film. Being fortunate enough to call Cody a friend and coworker, I personally have seen him putting hours of his time in to ensure the stories in this film are presented in an accurate and impactful way. Having watched the film twice already myself, I would say he had achieved this goal. While Cody's photography, videography, and film production skills are a major highlight of this film, it would be nothing without the stories it follows and those brave enough to share them. Cody does a phenomenal job of representing the stories of the individuals this film follows. A must see for all first responders!

Meaningful storyline revealing the dark side of being a first responder!

Artfully told story/ documentary highlighting the dark side of being a first responder, specifically a firefighter or paramedic! Fantastic character progression; the viewer gets to witness true vulnerability and strength not often experienced!! Having spoken to the filmmaker personally, I know that this documentary didn't start out with that goal in mind; it was intended to be a promo video (about five minutes in length) for Tacoma Fire Department's peer support team. But once Mr Shea (a FF/ Paramedic himself) began to interview fellow members and conduct research, it became apparent where this project needed to go! Must watch, especially if you work in emergency services!!!

    Must watch

As a 3 decade firefighter this film is way overdue. First responders and their families should watch this together. The public should watch and gain an understanding and new appreciation for the men and women who battle on the front lines day in and day out. The accumulation of trauma over the course of a career by first responders has proven deadly. Too many are taking their own lives each year rather than seeking help. Not only suicide, unresolved trauma and stress accumulation can lead to heart disease an other life threatening physical ailments. I wish I had been taught 30 years ago how to cope with the horrors I have encountered. This film will no doubt save lives. Thank you Tacoma Fire and your brave men and women!
