    Technical critique

I'd like to say that I enjoy this episode. The montage of the children entertaining themselves at the Igiby cottage are some of my favorite additions to the original source material.

Having said that, this episode has the most noticeable graphical glitches in the show. There are moments (particularly with Commander Gnorm) where the frame rate drops well below what my eye can comfortably bridge and the motion looks way too choppy. There are also a few instances of characters' clipping through either their own clothing or hair (most notably during the Zibzy game).

I appreciate that Peet the Sock Man gets more screen time in this epsiode but I am very much biased in favor of his character so don't be too surprised if Peet-heavy episodes get better scores from me.

    I want more.

I have watched episode 1 and now 2, and I want more. I am loving this tv series. It's beautiful, charming, and fun. I enjoyed the game the children played. And the book store scene is terrific. I really like children's grandpa, Podo. And the children are perfectly cast and written. And when each episode ends, I'm not ready for it to end. I want to see more. I can't wait for episode 3.

It's also hard to say who my favorite character is. There are things I like about each one. The evil Fangs of Dang are scary, as they should be. Pet the Sock Man is interesting. I'm still trying to figure him out. I could go on, let's just say, they are all great characters. I can't wait to see more.

    The series is Brilliant!!!

Seriously? How can it be this good?!

How can a crowd-funded show with a five-million-dollar budget be more beautiful, more emotional, and more heart-warming than any Disney movie?

Yet it's true! There has been great care taken by Chris Wall, Andrew Peterson, Douglas McKelvey, and everyone else involved to adapt these books to the screen.

Is it 100% accurate to the books?

No, it's not. But that's a great thing! It keeps people on the edge of their seats whether or not they've read the books.

There are a few things from book 2 in this episode, but they're there to ground us in the world. To let us see beyond the kids' viewpoint.

I cannot wait for episode 3. There's no show out there like this one. It makes you laugh, cry, and long for more.

S1:E2 Meticulous Notes for the Wingfeather Team

It was mentioned that the Wingfeather Team could, at a later date, go back and touch up previous episodes of the show and fix some errors. Here are some standout ones I found to make that process easier! These did not ruin the experience for me, but I think this might be helpful to the team! Thanks again, Elijah Elliott (Aerwiar Archives)

    • In the beginning of the episode at 00:14, the crows suddenly and obviously render in.

    • At 10:57, Ferinia's mouth moves a second or two before the matching voice lines are spoken.

That's about all I noticed for this one... a pretty clean episode, I do say!
