A Place We Came Together

The place we came together is Rita's diner. It has been burnt down, but earlier Rita announced she was selling up. The new owner would be the franchise chain Big Burger.

The locals are against it, in fact a public meeting turns violent. Maybe someone should had asked the question. Is Rita meant to run the diner until she dies? Then her children take over until they expire.

Claire one of the journalists figures out rather quickly who burnt the diner down. She has no answer why the town is not a place where people come together. It is divided like the rest of America.

Meanwhile Roz makes progress in Gloria's case. She knows that if Gloria was on crutches, she could not had walked to the area where her body was found.

A shocking news of a helicopter crash could indicate that there is a bigger conspiracy involved.

This was a ponderous episode, the writing was cumbersome. It really is left to Hilary Swank's starpower to do the heavy lifting in the second episode.

Goofs
When Claire is on the phone to Jeff, asking him to pick up the kids from karate, in the last scene of Jeff when he finally relents and agrees to pick them, when he puts the phone down he is holding it clearly upside down, talking into the speaker with the microphone in his ear, you can see the back Camera at the bottom of the phone as he throws it onto his desk.
