Fear of Flying

James Whale wrote about this edition in his 2008 autobiography "Almost A Celebrity", though had misremembered the exact details over 15 years later. Whale recalled that the edition was already pre-approved for swearing, as it was an edition discussing the entomology of swearing, which isn't the case - that episode in question was the later It's Only Words (1992). Not only that, but he remembered Jim Bowen's swearing as more pre-planned than the actual event.

(Words censored for reproduction): "With this newfound freedom, however, Jim Bowen decided he'd tell this very rude story - but he hadn't realised we were still on the air. And let's put it this way: his story wasn't an erudite explanation of the etymology of 'c***'. The incident caused a great deal of fuss and got a large amount of newspaper coverage the following day. Jim was upset because he said his wife had never heard him swear or use the 'c' word in all the years they'd been married."
