I thought I was giving to watch a good mystery since it peaked my interest at the start but it was such scripted dialogue that it became unbelievably boring. Sorry

I guess if you liked Blair Witch you may feel differently about this film. I should have known when I was only a minute into it and was already hitting fast forward. I didn't realize it was a mockumentary at first until I recognized an actor. Amazon Prime suggested it after I finished watching actual crime documentaries so I just hit play.
It was very slow and disconjointed. Once they get past the interviews with the "moms" (who no way can be old enough to have these girls unless they were 14 when pregnant), trying to figure out why they are wondering around this little town is very tiresome. There was no real logic for it. I found my self hitting the 10 second forward on my remote over about 20 minutes of it. My thumb got a cramp.
As a documentary, this film would bomb. As a mockumentary you have to like the kind of "lost footage" type of style where there doesn't seem to be a clear direction.
I gave it three stars instead of one, because the acting of dad and girlfriend was excellent. If Heather was supposed to be strung out, then her acting was also up there. Paul was ok, but the whole thing of making little innuendos to try a make him Don Paul of small town IL.was a little hard to swallow.
The last 5-10 minutes was a good plot twist. More could have done with that I think and the final "revelation" was a bit too obvious even way before the reveal. Overall, don't waste your time.

Found myself half way in and figured to go with it.
Very nice.
Now I wasn't one for Mockumentaries. In fact some of them I get let down because got my hopes up for the real.
They make it look so real at 1st. Lol. That's when I started to watch them more but with purpose.
I gave them a fair shot & have decided that I respect this art
Anyway, I can see a little of this in the movie Creep, Creep 2. Awesome movies.
Best,
Derek
This is not an actual documentary but is usually listed as one. Completely misleading. I became suspicious because the characters involved didn't seem believable...very scripted dialogue and atrocious acting. The video of the burning car was real, and from what I have read, a story was built around that.
