    Worse than you thought

I'll say it right away: the new Dudes movie is probably the worst film ever made in the Serbian language.

Watching this movie is a horrifying experience, and the only thing that comes to mind as a comparison is summoning spirits that went wrong, like a bad nightmare that only gets worse and after which I feel like the nastiest scorpions have been bothering me all night.

And it had to be that way: all the positive wild energy that the first movie carried and that we really felt and lived those few years has long been eaten by darkness and vomited out undigested bones that hit us on the head as punishment for not leaving these areas when we should have. So this film also hits us on the head with Smoki, Motorola, A1, Nis Express, Maca from Big Brother, the scream of Seka Sablic, "comedy" by Sergej Trifunovic, Cobi's autotune BS, general nonsense, Vienna - where most of the plot is located for some weird reason. Every second of this abomination hurts, because stupid jokes don't stop, recycling of old ones doesn't stop, torture is constant and only intensifies. The story is completely pointless, no one has made a name for themselves in their roles here. I haven't seen anything good in this movie. At its peak, everything looks like a mix of Zikina dinastija and Zam parade + everyone is drunk and drugged.

There were attempts at some contact with reality, some criticism or whatever, but it's all stale and wouldn't have made sense even 20 years ago because it's extremely poorly executed. Some kids go to a chemistry competition, people carry selfie sticks, the car runs on a rope, oh man. Rakija and ajvar in travel bags, a little joke with the Prizren-Timok accent, just because. There's also that conceited character from Dnevnjak, he really doesn't belong in Munje. Or Juice, or Maca. No one else belongs in Munje, Munje are a thing of the past, they're dead now, and it would be best if no one had ever dug them out of the grave. Now they're Mulje.

I give up. I would write more, but I feel like half of my brain died by the end of the movie, the malignant cringe has penetrated my limbs and I hope I'll be able to get out of bed in the morning. I feel mentally and physically irreparably damaged.

Conclusion: Don't waste your time and money on this trash! It's much worse than the trailer and everything else you've ever seen. I recommend it only to masochists and maybe for research purposes. The authors and everyone involved should be ashamed of this abomination.

expected a little and got even less

Obvious is the reason this film was made. Money! It was as if someone had put a knife to Radivoje Andric's throat and said make a movie. It was more like an advertising than a movie. The script and direction are very bad. The acting is much lower than the first part of the film. Already told and familiar jokes. Many characters are forced into the film for no apparent reason. Seka Sablic caused a bit of nervous in me while I watched the film, with her screaming and yelling. That's all she knows to do. The film has a lot of unnecessary and really stupid and thrown scenes. I really wanted this to work, but this definitely belongs to one of the biggest failures in the history of Serbian cinema.

    Funny to watch until...

I have to be honest and say that my first impression is that movie is to short, despite it lasts one and a half hour, which means that it was funny. But also I have to say that I can agree with rest of the reviewers.

I saw movie couple a weeks ago, and form this distance I can say that it is funny, and good to watch just for fun, until point when Maca shows up. His acting (if, that screaming, moaning and trashing, we can call, acting) is very very painful to watch and I think it ruined something that could be remembered as quite funny movie for cheer up.

And for God's sake, why do they had to put in the film Maca, Juice, and rest of the Pink and reality shows scumbags, they, culture and values that they are representing, are something that first film was against (currently do not know how to say better), why Youtubers. If you wanted amateur actors, you could find them everywhere, so much amateur theaters...

Someone mentioned that advertisements are all over the movie, well, Maca, Juice, Pink, Youtubers are the answer why film has that much advertisements...in a way, it looks like the film is shot for a YouTube video...

Feeling after the movie - lobotomy

Once epic movie, receives a comeback 20 years later. Bad idea from the start, buk okay, lets give it a chance.

After seeing the movie, I will need some time to recover from it.

To be honest, I couldn't wait for the film to get till the end.

Despite the acting crew, with many people from Serbian cultural and public scene had a small role in the movie the movie came out to be a total disaster.

Storyline already seen, jokes which cannot make you laugh in a thousand years, some actors who were heroes of my childhood degrading themselves, sponsors on every corner, just make you wonder if anyone read the script before accepting the role.

All in all we definitely have a problem to say if something is bad, and this movie is really, really bad. They ruined the memory on a movie which is a rate 10 without doubt.

Honest recommendation, do not watch it, so that we can forget it as soon as possible.

Surprisingly, better than the first one

I've started watching this with no expectations whatsoever. Only thing I had to measure possible quality of this was the first, original film, which wasn't very good in my opinion, its only good part was the music. It had serious problems with lead female characters bad acting, lead male actors were too old for characters they played, unsuccesful and pretentious jokes, weak plot that leaned too much on celebrities cameos and not delivering to high expectations after being hyped a lot. So I thought this one would probably be worse than that... I was wrong.

This film is actually fun to watch. Yes, the plot is a bit basic and nonsensical bit that is ok because all the fun in it comes from super self-aware jokes. You can still see legends of Belgrade urban culture in silly roles, but also some new ones from the opposite side. It puts together different age groups and completely separate worlds that exist in Serbia. I can see that people are disappointed with casting popular performers from turbo-folk world into a film that's supposed to be alternative culture but I was ok with that as I didn't really recognise them. It offers a pretty accurate image of modern Serbia through lenses of different generations. I had a good laugh, and good fun.

Music was different, not my cup of tea, but up to date with trends. Casting was great and there was no noticeable bad acting as bad actress roles were kept minimal. Sergej Trifunovic was exceptional. I liked attention to detail in costume and set design very much. Especially main characters childhood rooms in which they still live, with all the residue of tumultuous past decades in Serbia. And a soccer legend, Dule Savic, who turned Z in the meantime, was only shown on a poster, hugging a criminal, which I thought was brilliant. For me, it did bring some of that special radio B92 spirit that kept us alive during awful Serbian '90ies.

All in all, it wasn't a masterpiece, but it has something to offer for a wide audience, it's was witty and not boring at all. I give it 7 stars.
