Triviaverse

My family struggle with dyslexia and autism. We are brilliant people, but this show is hard to read and follow with all the light. It is overwhelming, and there is no inclusive option where we can have it read the questions out loud. I implore for shows in this day and age to be inclusive. There is no excuse for this kind of run-ins any more.

It makes me feel so horrible that these shows don't consider different people. It is not acceptable. I want to do something fun with my family, but shows like this, with no opportunities for readers or vision impairment, make our lives and those of others a daily struggle. It is not a complicated problem to fix, and it needs to be!

It's actually way better than I thought it would be!

1 player mode has fun & fast paced trivia that I think most people can enjoy. The animations also look really good. However, it does get a bit glitchy at times, which leads to delays after answering the questions. This can get pretty annoying. 2-player mode is awesome! It's always fun to compete against friends and family. The glitches kind of mess this one up though. 2 player mode has way more glitches and bugs than one player. Sometimes it takes up to 10 seconds to load a question!

Overall, this is a fun trivia game I think you should try.

It's mostly a fun game, but certain subject matter is hugely overrepresented, and isn't all that broad in its appeal. I swear at least 2/3 of the music questions are about K-Pop. Like, seriously, for every one question about classical music, jazz, or rock, they have three or four questions about a bunch of acronymic K-Pop groups where, if you don't already know the subject well, there's no realistic likelihood you can figure it out. If they put more effort into broadening some of the excessively niche content, it would be much, much better. (And would also probably hew a little bit more closely to what most people would regard as reasonable and useful general knowledge.)

The descriptions says, "This interactive story tells about the highest score wins in Science, Art, Geography, and more". Unfortunately the and more seems to be a lot of American pop culture (rappers and rap songs) sprinkled in with questions about Obama and Stacy Abrams.

I'm going to look at the credits because the one sidedness of these Netflix releases usually are pushed by a certain element that the company has signed deals with.

This was a surprise and much like the interactive Bear Grylls show I was eager to give it a try and there are some good challenging questions posed, but the novelty wears off pretty quickly as after about 20 tries I'm getting some repeats.

I would enjoy more things like this if they included a more balanced approach to politics, but that's just not how Netflix does things.

It's pretty great in a lot of ways. Solid design, fun to play, engaging and keeps you playing over and over, even though the rounds are only 3 minutes. However, there are some serious problems with their database of questions and how questions are chosen.

In particular, there are a lot of questions about random pop culture things that only people in a relatively narrow age range would know. Also a lot of questions about literature and authors that bizarrely range between Nobel laureates and bargain bin trash. A lot of it comes across as trivium rather than actual trivia.

There are some bugs and technical issues with responsiveness and the timer as well.

Interested to see what it's like when they've had a little longer to tweak it.
