The Silic & Lee Show (2011)

Trivia

The Silic & Lee Show

Edit
This is the first widely released production of Dave Lee and Josh Silic who had been making short films and online sitcoms for 10 years prior to the release of The Silic & Lee Show.
Dave and Josh have known each other since their first year in Primary School - that's 15 years before the release of the series.
The series was brainstormed on a summer afternoon when Dave and Josh were having a casual swim in a pool together. They had heard of a student-run group at their university which produced television series for the local community station and thought it would be a good idea to pitch a live talk-show to the group. After a series of bizarre events, Dave actually ended up on the board of executives of the group and was put into the position to be able to start up the production of the series after pitching it to the other executives.
After 3 months of shooting, but well before the show was set to go to air, Hamish Blake and Andy Lee debuted a similar television series on national Australian television titled "Hamish & Andy's Gap Year." Dave and Josh noticed that Hamish and Andy had many similar elements and video packages in their series, and even though it would have been impossible for either party to have 'stolen ideas,' this incident led to the inclusion of a comedic discussion and sketch in episode 4 where Dave and Josh defended themselves claiming that Hamish and Andy had been stealing their ideas.
The first season of the show averaged at around 51,500 viewers a month, not including multiple people watching in one household or people watching the Wednesday morning repeat. The highest rating for the season was 53,200 viewers in the final month of airing, which was an increase from the 50,600 viewers the show had in its first month.
