In the beginning - all existence was contained in a single perfect tone. But this perfection could not last forever... The tone faltered... and when it did, The Anomaly was born, spewing chaos across the multiverse. This cleaving of perfect unity also gave birth to an ageless race of Shadow Beings - creatures of order and stillness who wanted nothing more than to return to their singular existence.

The Anomaly grows - a bubbling mass of chaos - that ever encroached upon the Shadow Beings. War seemed imminent... or worse, exile from existence. The leader of the Shadow Beings proposes a truce with the Anomaly. The Charter was born: "Order perfects creation"

An uneasy truce persists as the specifics of their agreement unfold. The Charter controls space and time - a cage that holds the Anomaly. But there's a more insidious "term" to this agreement: entropy. With every creation she makes, the Anomaly loses power. Slowly she diminishes.

The Anomaly attempts to break free of the Charter by seeding pieces of its essence on Earth: to take root in humans who would grow to one day recognize their inherited power. The Charter reacts by asserting shadow control over humanity: peace above but war below.

As the shadow war on humanity continues, the leader of the Charter yearns for the bond they once shared with the Anomaly. A plan to reunite is secretly conceived setting in motion the "Eternal Return". The final entry in the five part series recounting the origin of the Anomaly and the Charter.
