To Be Hero X

Definately worth watching . Extremely underrated, last episodes are peak writting . Awesome integration of multiple stories.

Starting 2 stories are really good . The next few are boring but after that as the last stories are explored and all the stories come together it feels really awesome . Must watch. DON'T DROP IT.

We have one of those series that had a lot of anticipation beforehand.

After all, "To Be Hero X" offered a rather intriguing and interesting superhero story that would be told through several characters in a few arcs.

The reality is that the series lived up to expectations and much more...but only in some arcs.

Let me explain: we have a series that starts off very strongly with its first two characters introduced: the story of Lin Ling/Nice, told from an innocent but rather traumatic perspective, and that of E-Soul, which for me is the strongest of all. So far, so good, because the pacing, narrative, and animation are more than up to par with fascinating 3D and insane action sequences.

However, we then have the arcs of Queen, Loli, Lucky Cyan, the Johnnies, and Ghostblade, which are very flat and, at times, boring. We then switch to exclusively 2D animation, making them seem like another series. They're not bad episodes by any means, but the cohesion doesn't seem to be there, and they're like parallel stories told from each character's point of view. But... everything has a reason, and each of the plots eventually leads to the alien ship arc, where we see a previous Nice and E-Soul being evil and trying to kill everyone. This is when the series really ramps up and explodes in the last 6-7 episodes, which also include the Ahu/Dragon Boy arc, Smile's death, and the impressive introduction of X.

All of this ends with a cliffhanger that leaves us feeling very high and waiting for the next season, knowing that this won't stop and that it will be mind-blowing; there's no two ways about it. The initial tournament and the appearance of the new Zero or whatever will undoubtedly blow our minds.

In short, an excellent first season overall, but if I recommend it to anyone, it should be with the warning of those arcs where the dynamics and story change completely. The risk of dropping exists if one is not warned or does not give the series the opportunity to explode.

Not only that this gave me a mew taste for anime but also gave new way for characters of a big cast to have their own spotlight compared to traditional one person only main character. Easily has the most overpowered titular meta character and has a wide array of cast in the main line up that has agency over their own story and not just some prop. I love it that most of them are all connected. Its gone full circle.

At first, the animation style takes a bit of getting used to, but you get the hang of it pretty quickly. The story is super engaging, and the music really pulls you in. It kind of reminds me of Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse and Cyberpunk: Edgerunners.

Cinematically, it's well put together, with some stunning visuals and solid direction. The pacing is just right-never feels rushed, but it also doesn't drag. The characters are already pretty interesting, and it feels like the story is setting up for something big. I have really high expectations for this anime, and I'm excited to see where it goes.

Storytelling is great A combination of 2D and 3D animations creates a unique storytelling experience. The real-time storytelling aspect allows the most powerful character to gain strength from real-time viewers, which I find fascinating. The overall concept is impressive, including the graphics and music. I really enjoy both the opening and closing songs, as well as the "Hero X" song, which is particularly amazing.
