According to Ron Ganbar, who did visual effects for Aya, the 40 minute film has some 250 effect shots, and the driving scenes were shot in a studio.
It is not explained in the film, but Jerusalem no longer has an international airport. A traveler from northern Europe (like Mr. Overby) flies to Ben Gurion Airport, then have to take ground transportation the ~45 km (~28 mi) to Jerusalem.
