Also, in the investigation of the abduction takes part idealistic U.S. Secret Service agent Marcus Finley, whose first day of work in the protection of the president's son falls on these tragic events.     Dunn and Finley are being pulled in two directions simultaneously. Gibson is expecting them to turn over Clarenbach as per their deal. The CIA's Smith has taken Dunn's sister, Meg Fitch, prisoner and will kill her unless they turn Clarenbach over to him. They finally learn that Gibson is behind the kidnapping scheme. Dunn goes looking for her sister and turns to her boss for help. Finley takes Clarenbach to FBI headquarters and shows him some of the information they have. He recognizes the kidnap house from a drawing and knows where it is. He wants a deal before he reveals anything. Gibson meanwhile has contacted one of the parents, Jakob Vries, and sends him after Clarenbach.

    The police have found Jin Lao's body and realize Gibson is sending a message to the other parents. At the kidnap house, Ian tells Beth Ann what he saw her father do but assures her the kidnappers made him kill Jin Lao. Gibson needs more time for Jonas to finish the serum and so contacts another parent, a neo-Nazi who quickly sets off with half a brick of plastic explosive. The FBI manage to trace Gibson's call to its destination and they soon surround the kidnap house. Throughout it all, Gibson seems calm and determined, as if his plan is rolling out exactly as planned.
