I really enjoyed Rule Breakers. The story and the characters were compelling. It gave a real human face to the good and then bad guys. All of the characters are well developed and bring their personal outlook and the experiences that shaped them. It's nice to see a movie with a solid plot, whose hope, balanced with grave challeneges tell the story without a lot of gratuitous violence.
I was surprised that there was a lot more to see in the movie aftee what seemed like a generous trailer. The sets were well designed. It was well shot although the scenes that were intentionally shot as if they came from a cellphone wobbled more than I cared for. Otherwise. All good.

A true story told in a fashion that moved me in ways that I haven't encountered in some time. We saw both the young women's struggles and successes. I was both impressed by the women's courage and yet saddened that they had to even face the cultural restrictions for women in Afghanistan.
Angel Studios shows that they know what they are doing as they continue to create compelling movies that educate, inspire and entertain.
Definitely a movie worth seeing for young and old, both for it's content as well as to support Angel Studios. Definitely go get your tickets while it's still in the theaters and enjoy the show.

I was struck by the perseverance of the Roya Mahboob character to bring education and technology these Afghani girls who live in a culture where women's opportunities are severely limited by the Taliban. The actors portraying the girls did an amazing job of making me feel the emotions the characters were expressing, particularly a bright hope that they could accomplish what many, if not most men, in their society believed was impossible. On a completely separate note, knowing that the United States has now abandoned Afghanistan conditions will likely be even worse for girls there. This is important story about freedom, especially for women. I sincerely hope that feminists support this movie.
Rule Breakers is a true story told in a very engaging and heartfelt manner. The story focuses on a group of Afghani women and girls (and their families) as they challenge the attitudes, traditions, and culture that surround them by learning to write code, make robots, and compete as a team in prestigious, international competitions. The film does an excellent job of developing the characters of the team members and the woman, Roya Mahboob, who was visionary behind the team. While are some suspenseful moments, as you might expect with a bunch of rule breakers, the film chooses not to dwell on these incidents. Rather, it deftly focuses on how the team defied expectations, overcame serious technical challenges, managed needless bureaucratic delays, won over the international media, and won hearts and minds among their competition. In addition to presenting an engaging story with top-notch production values, the performances from the entire cast are superb. I was deeply moved by this film and am already look forward to seeing it again!
The RULE BREAKERS movie was so good, so real, made me cry with joy! The passion of international competition is evident / the perils of woman in AFGHANISTAN is real, the acting is fabulous, the true story makes you realize we are so blessed to live in America. You need to see this movie. To understand the struggle women experience in another country will make you a better person... I thought robotics would be boring, but instead the writers bring science to life. You laugh, you cry you are inspired. Take your teenagers! Take your daughters! The reality of the story comes to life. I googled " robotic teams ".
