Goofs

Bad Country

Edit

Incorrectly regarded as goofs

(at around 1 min) When Bud takes his aspirin, the water cooler is empty.
While investigating Morris's body in the trunk of car, the detective identifies him to Carter as Daniel Morris and then hands Carter a business card showing the name Daniel J. Kiersey.

The card presented was given to Morris by Kiersey. Kiersey is the top dog's lawyer. That's why a "tap" is requested to go on Kiersey's phone line.

Revealing mistakes

(at around 52 mins) When Jesse has Catfish against the truck, you can see the adhesive holding on Jesse's fake mustache during the closeup.
The record player used by Bud to play albums is set to 45 rpm. LP albums are played at the 33 rpm speed on record players.
When the obituary page is on screen, the two obits shown indicate the people were in Baton Rouge; but the surrounding obits mention locations in California.
An LP is shown being played on the turntable, switch is set for 45, but LPs run at 33 1/3.

Anachronisms

When the cops conduct a raid on Jesse's house and Bud searches through the kitchen freezer, a box of frozen Pepperidge Farm Garlic flavored Texas Toast sits in the freezer door. Pepperidge Farm didn't introduce its Texas Toast line until the 1990's, despite the film taking place in 1983.
At around 1 hour 19 mins into the movie, when Jesse goes to catch Catfish Stanton and interrogate him on Lutin's whereabouts, the song 'One, Two, Death' by the band To Kill A Party can be heard playing at Catfish's place, which is impossible, as the movie's story takes place in 1983, and the song only came out in 2013.
