Stand-up artist Danya Markov moves to Moscow and rents a room from a grumpy old man Vyacheslav Sokolov. Soon Danya realizes that he was robbed at the train station and he urgently needs to find money to pay for his accommodation.
Danya is still trying to solve money problems and gets a job as a waiter in Arkady Ivanovich's bar. Sokolov again conflicts with his son Vlad and indulges in memories of the past.
