A few issues out of the way first: pacing is still a bit rushed, especially the introduction of Medusa, depiction of the gods' apathetic and sometimes immoral nature could be made subtler. Other than that, I loved this episode! Full of all sorts of fun easter eggs that die-hard fans can salivate over while also just being a well-written piece of media. Aryan as Grover got a lot better for me, mainly because he got more screentime centering on his character. They definitely highlighted Annabeth's fatal flaw of hubris more while also still making her a character we can attach too. Walker was obviously great as Percy and definitely sold the character for anyone who still has doubts about his ability to portray Seaweed Brain (though at this point, that's way less than 1% of the PJO fanbase). I'll leave it at that to not spoil the episode itself, but even a non-fan is probably going to get a blast out of it.
We Visit the Garden Gnome Emporium is an amazing episode. I have watched 3 episodes and all the episodes were really good. I noticed that Percy was kinda bratty in this episode. He was always disagreeing and dismissing everyone in the group's ideas and stories. But there was one character who shined brightly in this episode. Medusa. I liked how they added character development to Medusa. The actor for her was also really good too. Her part was the most interesting of the episode and carried the whole episode with it. I gotta say, so far, this is my favorite episode in the series. I will be mentioning that in my review for the series. This episode also has great action too. In all, I give this episode a 8.7 out of 10. A strong episode.
How do you make a heroic quest super boring? Have 3 preteens chat in monotones for half an hour and occasionally flee from a stupid looking fury. The show didn't start off on the best foot (I feel like many of the character portrayals were botched, missing the essence of the characters from the books. The fun and goofy adventurous tone of the books have also been replaced with an awkward seriousness for some reason I cannot explain), but I've been hoping the series would get better. This episode didn't improve things. The encounter with Medussa should have been the highlight of the episode but turned out very bland, and her takedown was lame. Overall, the series has been disappointing, and this episode was awkward, lame, and boring. Triple threat.
Percy Jackson has to head west for his quest to confront Hades and rtrievie Zeus's bolt. Accompanying him will be Annabeth and Grover.
Only Percy is warned by the Oracle that his friend will betray him on the quest. Well that could be Grover.
On the bus Percy finds that Annabeth has taken charge. Maybe for good reason she senses that something is wrong. The Furies have smelt them and get on the bus.
The three escape and take the path to Aunty Em's Emporium. The smell of food entices them inside but there is something mythical about it.
The many stones statues indicates to Annabeth that this is Medusa's lair. She does not like Annabeth.
I thought the beginning of the quest was interesting. The bickering about Annabeth calling the shots the the confrontation with the Furies.
Then it got rather muddled. Medusa looked interesting but the pacing and dialogue was so dull.

This is such a good adaptation of Percy Jackson and way better than the movies. I have been waiting for this series to come out for years and so far have been enjoying it. I love the casting choices especially the kid who play Percy is exactly what I envisioned.
A few things I think could be improved upon, 1. Longer episodes: Because the episodes are so short it forces the story to be told way too fast and important and amazing parts of the story and left out as a result. You have a tv series Its not a movie, so you can take time to add those little details and really develop the story and the characters.
2. More Edginess I felt like a couple of characters where lacking for example Medusa and the Oracle. Both of these character are supposed to be spine tingling. I get that this is a Disney show however you will not offend people or scare kids if you add a little more mystery and suspense to characters. Plus it shouldn't be so easy for the main characters to defeat ancient entities.
With that being said I love the show and hope that production will get a bigger budget for season 2 and make this show truely come to life.
