    An excellent storyline.

Celia Swanson, a wealthy, but hard to please resident at an exclusive home for the elderly is killed one night. The Police investigate several leads, including Celia's daughter Maria and her partner Freddie, as well as the home manager and a charitable group.

I have to be honest, I find myself totally at odds with some of the less than favourable reviews, for me this was an excellent piece of drama, I loved it, and would say it's head and shoulders above most of what's going out on ITV.

I loved that we got to see an animated Max, angry at Jess's decision to act alone, Layla has settled in very well. I love that Connor and Jess are both playing an integral part, not just there to make up the numbers.

Some terrific performances, where to begin, Simon Williams, Raquel Cassidy, Naoko Mori and Pippa Heywood, all first class.

    Quality episode.

    8/10.

    Why don't reviewers watch properly?

So far 3 reviews, of those 2 accuse the writers of introducing the killer in the last few minutes.

Maybe they should check they're not going gaga, as the killer in fact had been appearing through the 2 episodes?? The NEW character was actually the SISTER of the killer -- pay attention?!

And for LondonJohnnie, bemoaning that the former DS isn't in Series TWO, i suggest you check out what the actress has been doing of late? She's been extremely busy, so likely had filming clashes which ruled her out of this show,

OR, possibly, the production team noticed that HER character required a husband, someone she went home to at night, and they explored a bit of the tension involved with police families??? Now she's moved on -- it would be nice to hear where? -- they can save that extra salary of the hubby? You hadn't noticed?? Tsk tsk . . .

That 'Chelsea Oars' in fact depicts Thames Rowing Club at Putney is reasonable dramatic licence, but whoever designed their fictitious logo to hang over the boathouse balcony had simply not done any homework. It features two canoe paddles, not rowing oars.
