Fabulous!!! "Carol" is a well-crafted musical with a wonderful twist on Dickens' classic. The famous theme & characters are easily distinguishable yet freshly presented, escaping the duldrums of familiarity.
Replete with engaging original song & dance numbers that are performed with skill and passion! The talented acting ensemble is refreshingly unfamiliar, yet maintain a fine chemistry throughout. The photography and cinematography are finely tuned. Director George A. Johnson's effort is a solid addition to his Christmas-themed resume (Homeless for the Holidays).
This pleasing performance will certainly become a seasonal go-to for many - especially in light of the resurgence of cinematic musicals.
A true treasure trove of entertainment. Be prepared to have the "Bah humbug" knocked out of you!!!

This movie does not disappoint!! The musical numbers connect with the story in such a meaningful way! The message of hope and redemption is woven through the script with purpose and uplifting promise. Aaron Fullan as Solomon Lynch is outstanding, using comedy to play a man in his lowest darkest time of life. Colleen Amaya is breathtaking in this movie literally placing her soul on a platter in one of the duets. You need a box of tissues for this movie, though the laughter between the tears is a wonderful mix. I experienced an emotional roller coaster and at moments the cinematic beauty was just amazing. There is a palpable love of the cast for each other as you watch the relationships build between the characters in every scene. This chemistry can only be accomplished when the actors are able to be completely vulnerable in the space they are working!! This is a movie. We will watch every year with our family as a Christmas tradition. If you have not seen Carol you need to get to a theater to see this. It is worth the time to watch and then go back and watch it one more time!
This movie was a great surprise and will be an annual favorite!!! Unlike the traditional Charles Dickens Scrooge, this movie delivers the message with a fresh new approach.. Musical scores from Heartfelt to Rap (a good try on rap). "Carol" will make you laugh and make you cry. It will make you ask yourself questions. And to see this story turned into a Christian message was amazing. Even if your preference is a little different, this movie's message about Family and Hope will inspire you. So if you're looking for a new family favorite that the whole family will enjoy.... Check out Carol, you won't be disappointed.
Such a fun movie! The music blew me away! The story was a fun new twist on A Christmas Carol, showing life from the opposite of the tracks as Scrooge, but still giving us the Christmas ghosts we love 😁
The actors were mostly new to me, but all did an amazing job! The sets and settings were beautiful, and it's easy to tell that a lot of care went into making them sparkle (sometimes literally, it is a Christmas movie).
The songs were a mix of genres, and I loved all of them. I'm not even sure I could pick a favorite.
One question left. When does the soundtrack come out? I can't wait! It will be blasting through my house, even after the holidays are over!

Carol will capture your heart and become a favorite in your home. George Johnson once again shows his prowess and surpasses all expectations by creating this modern classic. If you loved Homeless for the Holidays you will love this film. The music, editing, and cinematography are superb. Aaron Fullan, the lead actor, demonstrates an impressive and captivating range and depth in his craft.
The entire cast is top shelf, from Shannen Fields to Matt Moore to Robert Amaya. The rap number with Amaya and Fullan is worth the price of admission alone. Frannie Rae Cash Cain demonstrates her talent, and the Amaya family have some serious singing and acting skills. The film is a visual and audio delight from beginning to end.
In our day of endless Hollywood dribble, stale sequels, and cultural pandering, this film does something bold and unashamed. It offers answers. It gives meaning and purpose through themes of forgiveness, redemption and faith. And it does so while being thoroughly entertaining Visual art at its finest can influence a life, a family , and a society. This is one such film. You might find yourself wishing it will never end, unless you happen to be Ebeneezer Scrooge.

- TriviaIn the scene where Solomon sings "Wish You Were Here", director George A. Johnson didn't tell Aaron Fullan that the photo would come to life because he wanted to capture his genuine reaction. This was also the only song in which the audio was recorded live, rather than in a studio.
