Vir Das' latest special revolves around his observations about certain things in American cultures, his experiences over what started out as a tumultuous 2022, and his general opinion on patriotism vs nationalism.
While he does try to be a bit flippant about the things he underwent over 2022, you can see that he is upset about a lot of things. And, this hurt at times hinders what is actually a very good stand up special from becoming great.
However, this is only seen about three quarters into the special. For the most part, Vir is his usual funny, irreverent, and, at times, philosophical self.
Despite a slight slowing down in middle, I'd still recommend this special.

Great, witty show. Vir Das is quickly working his way up to be the Indian Stephen Colbert or John Stewart.
Not that he needs to be as ge seems to be carving his path very well in stand up comedy!
It's refreshing to see that he is using the platform to try to bring about much needed positive change in the world.
Instead of just making people laugh by self parody or parody in general, he works ti empower unity within his audience by using the power of his words.
While being powerful with his words, he still manages to be humble and graceful through all his shows!
A very well done show, I look forward to seeing many, many more!!
Thank you Vir Das for having the courage to speak the truth and for trying to bring the world together!

Great writing and story telling. Comedy was a stretch in between filled with irrelevant stories. What I liked was the intent, delivery and logic behind. Really well done but Vir has done better stage performances than this one. Not sure if Netflix rushed him into writing something up quickly to cash up on his recent controversy. If given enough time, this could have been a masterpiece. There was a bit less content and more fillers than what Vir usually has on his writing. Overall a great story telling and energy. I really want to see Vir live some day. Big fan of his work and I am a patriotic, Indian NRI :)
If you have enough unproductive time to waste, better watch your room's ceiling than this .
Imagine : You come from office, tired, you open Netflix to watch something good and Vir Das is on suggestion, you click on it, but after 15 mins you start missing your office and start questioning your Netflix choices. It literally takes the soul out of you.
Vir Das he insaano ko dass riya hai, Bagal mey baitha saanp hass riya hai
If he is trying to save his career atleast he should have created a controversy. There is far better content on YouTube. People who find him funny "I'm Sorry for your Lonely Life"
Thank Me Later.

Never heard of the guy but was influenced to watch due to the high ratings, which are deserved IMHO! Most of his act revolves around his observations of the American culture where he was raised, but felt like an outsider. Likewise, he felt estranged from Indian culture because he was too Westernized. Lots of material for immigrant-type humor, which I love, as a 2nd-generation native.
Apparently he's had some recent controversy, which he refers to also, including death-threats and being accused of being a traitor. He plays upon this several times.
There is some sexual banter and cursing, though he doesn't stress or depend on it for shock value.
I look forward to watching his other special.
