In 2017, when the novel Danur written by Risa Saraswati was adapted into a film entitled Danur: I Can See Ghosts and the film was a success, Risa then decided to set up a channel on YouTube called Jurnal Risa on August 30 2017. Jurnal Risa is a new form of documentation activity from Risa Saraswati apart from writing books, civil servants and musicians. Through this journal, he also shows his normal life and invites other people to communicate with his ghost friends through every video shown and searches for haunted places.
This is one of the first seven original Hotstar series from Indonesia introduced in the APAC Content Showcase by Disney+ Hotstar in 2021.
