Other People's Money

This is a very entertaining show featuring two great Danish actors, Karen-Lise Mynster and David Dencik, who portray the unfairness and helplessness of a broken and corrupt system. But it does more than that. It captures one of the saddest and most tragic truths about our current society. It even offers a metaphor for it when one private individual stands trial for using Cum-Ex to his advantage. You're punishing someone for stealing an apple from a store while an entire mob of gangsters is emptying all the shelves.

And at least in Germany, that is exactly what's happening. While no one seems to care about Cum-Ex - the biggest robbery of state money, estimated at 150 billion euros - the media, politicians, and the majority of citizens are preoccupied with the 0.3% of the population who might unjustly receive 650 euros a month in low-income or unemployment support. So cudos to a great show for potraying the current "zeitgeist" and its tragic.

Highly recommendable serie about the largest robbery of the Europe public treasury. Great build-up to the moment how the conspiracy finally got exposed. And also how the big bankers get away with it vs the little men. Well thought out storylines with also the nod to deep connections between bankers and politicians. How these banks always swindle their way out when they prey on the money of the public.

The well-thought-out eight-part series on the subject Cum-Ex reads like a counterpoint to the eternal "wisdom" of several politicians that the real wasters of a European society are those who are depen-dent on social benefits. Especially in the election campaigns of the last few months in the Federal Republic of Germany, this false narrative was spread inflationarily. Thank you for the well-researched series with excellent actors such as Justus von Dohnányi, Karen-Lise Mynster, David Dencik and Lisa Wagner.

The issue is still not settled today. Still not all proceedings have been concluded. Legal changes have still not all been implemented.
