Hard Shoulder (2012)

Trivia

Hard Shoulder

Edit
The big car stunt was a one-attempt setup and shot on 5 x cameras, one of which was HD, the rest being 35mm ( 1 x RED, 2 x 435's at 120 fps, 1 x Panavision G2, and 1 x Panavision Millennium). There were no backup vehicles prepared - budgetary exclusions - and no alternative script element if it didn't work.
Before production began the Director was nearly killed in a car accident when the vehicle he was driving caught fire in the outside lane of the M1 motorway near Sheffield and he was forced to take evasive action and move onto the hard shoulder. Though extremely fortunate the irony of this situation was not lost on him.
Principle photography was completed in only 18 days despite several potential disasters involving wrongly assembled camera equipment from the hire facility and the loss of film headers at the processing company.
The production sourced across the country, bought and destroyed 4 x Vauxhall Astra Estates (in red) during the making of this film.
The main car stunt was shot on a hill next to where the "Casino Royale" stunt crew achieved their world record nine rolls with an Aston Martin.
