This show gets better and better.

Iain Frankland, a noted psychotherapist is killed whilst on a teams call with a client, Max is quick to suspect Nathan Dix, a former patient of Frankland's who was seen in the area just before his death.

This second series is turning out to be quite something, and I'd go so far as to say that this is the best episode of the lot, this was absolutely terrific.

Tense, suspenseful, intriguing and gritty, I wish this show was more visible, it deserves to be seen by a greater audience, it's a cut above most of what's on terrestrial TV.

There are so many red herrings, plenty of strands and characters to throw you off the scent, it really does work as a whodunnit.

Max and Layla definitely work as a team, I think she's been a great addition to the show, I really like her.

What a dream cast, there is a lot of talent on here, clearly the script had appeal, the likes of Neil Morrissey, Claire Skinner and Dominic Mapham, and of course acting royalty Siân Phillips.

    Best episode so far.

    9/10.

    udden burst of star guests?!

This episode must have had a budget boost, as there are not one but 2 star guests, Neil Morrissey and the almost legendary Sian Phillips.

I wonder if in such an event, the normal 'stars' of the show, who are more usually either character players, or pretty much unknown, have to treat the guests with extra deference?!

Reviewing after the first episode of a 2-parter means I have no idea how things will develop, but so far we have a murdered (psycho)-therapist, with a couple of manic clients, and it turns out a family with some issues and a professional partner who at least doesn't like him, bordering on detests the guy?!

We also have a young lady client who has tried to commit suicide, but her filmed therapy did at least drop a hint towards her troubled past, and how to find somebody from it. Could our dead shrink have been getting some payback from past misadventures?

And on a more practical, cynical level, surely at least one of the 2 star guests had more to do with the murder than episode 1 suggested?! Else why use up that precious budget to bring them in?!

    • Trivia
When Max secretly contacts Layla whilst being held at knifepoint. She gets in her car and calls for backup. The backup was an armed response unit who were told "he's no threat" in reality an armed response unit would not respond to a request so immediately without thorough knowledge of circumstance and access. What the perpetrator was threatening with. A whole host of pertinent questions. In reality it would have been one or two police officers. Layla the DS would have had to explain via full report to a police board about budgets and inappropriate requests. Modern policing!
    • Goofs
When DC Connor updates his colleagues about a character in hospital, he calls it "Chelsea and Westminster" which is the real-world name of Chelsea and Westminster Hospital. In the following establishing shot the of the real CWH the hospital's signage (digitally altered?) reads as the fictitious "Chelsea Central Hospital", as it has in previous episodes.
